Election Reaction Person on the Street (POS)

Hey Bulldogs, I'm Emanuel and you're reading One of One. Election season has come to an end, and many are happy with the results, and many aren't happy with the results. I was tasked with going around campus asking individuals how they felt about the election and the results. Click here to hear what they had to said.

A RADIO-STYLE “WRAP” REPORT

Hey, bulldogs my name is Emanuel and you're reading the One of One blog. Today I’m here with Dr. Tolulope Filani and what went into building the sculptures in the Smith Hammond Middleton Legacy Plaza. The sculptures are of three young men who were killed during the Orangeburg massacre, which was a shooting of student protesters that took place on February 8, 1968, on SC States campus. Dr. Filani has been a professor at SC State for over 18 years. Click here to listen

Commercial or Public Service Announcement

For this class assignment we were to create a PSA of a topic of our choice. I decided to choose the Army. The Army is a very close topic for me because not only was my father in the Army, I am also currently serving in the Army National Guard. (Click here to hear my PSA.)

A Big Day Remembered

A big day that I will always remember is seeing my son for the first time. It's hard to believe these last 4 years have flown by but I've enjoyed every moment of it. I will never forget the first time I saw him. I missed his birth because I was training at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, but came home a month later. The very first time I saw him; I felt a feeling I have never felt till this day. I immediately felt unconditional love for this being I have never seen in my life and knew right then I would do anything in this world for him. I've enjoyed watching my son grow up over the years and can honestly say he is my greatest achievement. Above being a son, brother, friend, and soldier, I take pride in being a father over anything else. My favorite part about being a father is raising my son to be better than I was and just having fun/being there for him. I want him to accomplish everything I didn't, do everything I couldn't, and just get the chance to see him become the man I know he will one day. I look forward to going to his games, teaching him life skills, and just bonding like a father and son is supposed to.
